Instructions for Selected Developers

1. Create a Project

You will be completing projects for each site within the lot you have been selected for on the Odyssey platform.
  1. Navigate to the My Projects module, click on Create project(s).
  2. Select Create a Mini-grid project from the dropdown.
  3. On the Information tab, select REA NEP COVID-19 Intervention Program from the Program dropdown in order to assign the project to that program.

2. Complete the project data modules

Complete the initial technical analysis for the project. Please read an overview of each project module for completing each module below. Detailed instructions for how to use each module can be followed in the pre-development  user guides .
Participants of this program are required to fill the modules below:

  1. Information 

    1. The information module of the project contains the site information that was provided when creating the project. Learn more about  completing your site information .

REA NEP COVID-19 Intervention Program Requirement
The following documents are required to be uploaded to the Project Files section of each project you create on the platform:

Project Methodology & Approach         

1. Work Plan

2. Pre-Mobilization Plan

 Procurement Plan & Logistics  

3. Engineering drawings and Site Layout Plans 

4. Equipment Specification Sheet 

5. Work Plan/Project Gantt chart

  1. Load

    1. In the load module, you will provide information on the number and type of customers as well as the projected load profile. Learn more about  creating a load assessment .

  2. Generation Design

    1. Once your load profile in Odyssey is complete, you can design a generation system.
    2. Odyssey is integrated with HOMER Energy to enable rapid system design based on your load assessment.  Learn more about designing your generation system

    1. General Costs

      1. Input general costs e.g cabling costs related to site development and operating expenses. Learn more about   tracking general costs .
    Copy Projects
    Since you will be using the same design for all the projects, it is advisable to d uplicate projects you create by clicking on the  Copy Project(s)  tab . You can duplicate sites multiple times.
    Be sure to rename the sites and update the necessary field e.g Longitude and Latitude in the Information tab. 



    3. Share your Project

        1. Navigate to the Project Submission module of the project.
        2. Select the Share Project with Organization button
        3. Choose Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency - NEP from the dropdown menu
        4. Enable the Share All Sections toggle
        5. Select the Save button

      4. Report project milestones

      Using the Messages  module, you can update the status of each project to reflect one of the key development milestones below.
      1. Preliminary Site Assessment
        This status indicates that you are working on assessing your site to the COVID-19 Intervention program.
      1. Procurement of equipment
        Once you have begun procurement of goods, set the status of your project to  Procurement of equipment to update the COVID-19 Intervention program administrators on your project progress. 
      1. Delivery of goods to site
        If you have received some materials  required for site construction at the site  you can set the status of your project to Delivery of goods to site  to update the COVID-19 Intervention program administrators on your project progress. 
      1. Construction (PV structure generator and power)
        If you have started construction of your PV structure and power, you can set your status to Construction (PV structure generator and power) to update the COVID-19 Intervention program administrators on your project  progress. 
      1. Installation ( PV Panels,  Inverters, BESS, Wiring)
         If you have started construction of your PV panels, Inverters, BESS and wiring , you can set your status to Construction (PV structure generator and power) to update the COVID-19 Intervention program administrators on your project progress. 
      1. Commissioned
      Once you have commissioned your project, set the status to Commissioned to update the COVID-19 Intervention administrators on your project progress. 
      1. 3 months operations and maintenance
        Once you have commenced the operations for the maintenance of your site, set the status to 3 months operations and maintenance  to update COVID-19 Intervention administrators on your project progress. 

      1. Site handover
      Once you have completed the operations and maintenance of your site, set the status to Site handover to update COVID-19 Intervention administrators on your project progress. 

      5. Messaging with program administrators

      You can communicate with the Program administrators via the Messages module provided under the program. To do this,
      1. Select Finance > Programs 
      2. Select REA NEP COVID-19 Intervention Program
      3. Select Messages
