Create a Project

Create a Project

1. Navigate to Plan> My Projects

2. Click the Create Project(s) button

3. Select the project type

  1. Choose the type of project you would like to create from the drop down options.
  2. Bulk Upload Project(s) with Excel Templates: Is an advanced option if you have 10+ projects and would like to upload them in bulk using an Excel template. We recommend you build out a project in the software before using the bulk Excel templates so you are familiar with what to enter in each field.
Note:
  1. Programs do not allow use of the bulk upload.
  2. You are responsible for making sure your format matches the specified formatting exactly in order for your template to upload successfully.

4. Complete project information

  1. Asset Name: Enter the name of the community where the project will be built.
  2. Notes: Provide background information on your project plan, geography, and key features of your site.
  3. Program: If you are participating in a program in Odyssey, select the program from the dropdown list.
    1. You will not be able to complete your site application for a program if the project is not registered with the program. If you are participating in a program, make sure you read the program-specific participation guides.
  4. Tariff Currency: Select an option from the dropdown if you plan to collect your tariff revenues in a currency other than USD.
  5. Exchange Rate: Enter an exchange rate to convert from USD to your tariff currency.
    1. Press View Rates to see a list of recent exchange rates for your alternate currency. (1 USD = ## Alternate Currency).
  6. Commercial Operation Date (COD): Enter the expected commercial operation date of the project.
    1. Enter the date in YYYY-MM-DD format or press the calendar icon to choose your date from the calendar.
  7. Latitude & Longitude: Enter coordinates for your site’s location.
    1. Enter your coordinates in Decimal Degrees (8.3920, 9.4837). The system will not accept coordinates in Degrees Minutes Seconds format (8° 23' 31.1994", 9° 29' 1.32").
    2. These inputs are used to display your projects on a map and run HOMER (with the solar data for your site).
  8. Status: Select an option from the dropdown on the status of the project.

5. Click Save to begin your new project

From here you can make edits within the Information module  of your project.
If the Save Changes button is still gray, make sure all fields are completely filled out and the COD is in proper date format. Once all required information is entered, the button will turn orange to allow Saving.
