FAQ: I have a bad internet connection, how do I prevent data loss?

Low-bandwidth environments

Odyssey is built for low-bandwidth environments, as we know many of our users are operating without high speed internet connections. The software auto-saves your responses, and reminds you to save your work when you navigate away from pages. However, we also recommend hitting "Save" buttons often. Click on the link above for some suggestions on how to work offline if your internet is down for a while.

Working on your pre-qualification/business plan applicationoffline

Download the Word document version of the application and work on your responses offline. You can find a copy of the Word form of the application in the Programs > Documents section, as well as linked in the online application. Once complete, you can copy and paste your responses into Odyssey so no information is lost due to a poor internet connection. The business plan questions for each program are attached below.

Once you complete the questions offline, copy and paste your response for each question into the corresponding question's text box in Odyssey. You can add additional formatting using the text boxes once in the Odyssey platform.

Ensuring your response data is being saved in your Pre-Qualification/Business Plan Application

Your responses will save automatically every 30 seconds while connected to the internet. The Last Saved time will update every 30 seconds (every time the page is Autosaved). Please verify that the time is updating; if the Last Saved time is not updating, you have likely lost internet connection and your data has not been saved. Please use the offline template until you gain internet access again.

IMPORTANT: Do not keep this page open from two separate accounts, as data will be overwritten across accounts. One account without data may Autosave, overwriting data entered via a different account.

Save Manually using the Save button

You can also press the Save button to ensure you don't lose any information. Please verify that you receive the green success message every time you select Save. If you do not see the green success message in the upper right corner after pressing save, you have lost internet connection. Please copy and paste any information you've been working on to an offline source to prevent data loss from loss of internet.
