Solar Power Naija - Upstream

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN)’s Solar Power Naija (SPN) / 5 M Solar Connections Programme is financed through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and leverages the Odyssey platform.  Submissions outside of the platform will not be accepted.  Please read the guide thoroughly for instructions on how to submit an application to the Solar Power Naija (SPN) Program. 

In addition to this participation guide, please review the complete Odyssey user guides and FAQs to troubleshoot any issues, or reach out to the Odyssey support team via the support chat box in the bottom right corner of the application.

1. Review program information

If you have registered to participate in the program, you will be able to access the Solar Power Naija - Upstream information within Odyssey. To see all program information:
  1. Select Finance > Programs
  2. Select Solar Power Naija - Upstream from the Programs list

2. Complete the qualification application

Applicants must demonstrate that they are eligible and qualified to apply for the program.
  1. Select the  Application tab
  2. Complete the Verifiable Evidence form
    1. Click on the tabs to navigate between application sections (i.e. Technical Capacity, Financial Capacity, etc.).
    2. Click the Save button periodically to ensure your work is not lost

3. Upload additional application documents 

  1. Select the Additional Document Checklist tab in the Form section
  2. Click Attachments at the top of the Application tab
  3. Upload the required documents in the document checklist


  1. Select the destination for your files and add tags if you wish
  2. For some documents, templates can be found in the Program > Documents section
  3. Learn more about file management

4. Submit your program application

  1. Ensure all required fields are completed and all required documents have been uploaded
  2. All documents marked by a red asterisk (*) are required to submit your Solar Power Naija - Upstream application. You will not be able to submit your application until all required fields have been completed.
  3. Click the Submit button
You will not see the Submit button until you have completed all the required questions. Once submitted you may no longer make edits to your application

5. Track your application status

  1. Once you have submitted all the documents required for your application , your application status will be updated by REA to “Active” or “Incomplete
  2. If your application status is updated to “Active,” it means your application is currently under review by REA
  3. After this, the SPN Program Administrator will update your status to "Selected," "Incomplete," or "Rejected"
  4. If you are "Selected" you will receive an email notification with instructions on the next steps to take 
  5. If your status is marked "incomplete," you will have the chance to update and resubmit your application

Messaging with program administrators

 You can communicate with the Program administrators via the  Messages section provided under the program. To do this,
  1. Select Finance > Programs 
  2. Select Solar Power Naija - Upstream
  3. Select Messages
