DARES Solar for Business

1. Review program information
- Select the Finance > Programs tab from the left navigation bar.
Click DARES Performance-Based Grants for Solar Business Systems from the programs list.
Required questions have red asterisks (*). You will not be able to submit your application until all required fields have been completed.
Download Resources
Click the Resources section.
View and download the program documents.
Select the documents or folders you would like to download.
Click the Download button.
Review Documents
Thoroughly read all program documents to ensure that you understand all the requirements of the program.

2. Submit Pre-Qualification Application
Start Application
Select the Application tab.
Complete Form
Fill out the DARES Performance-Based Grants for Solar Business Systems application in the Form section.
Click the Save button periodically to ensure your work is not lost.
Required questions have red asterisks (*). You will not be able to submit your application until all required fields have been completed. Make sure your responses stay within the word limits or you will not be able to submit.
Sign Data Sharing Agreement
Ensure you read and sign the data-sharing agreement. This agreement outlines how your data will be used and the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
Submit Application
Ensure all required fields are completed and all required documents have been uploaded.
Click the Submit button.
You will not see the Submit button until you have completed all the required questions. Once submitted you may no longer make edits to your application.
Check Submission Status
Navigate to the list in the Programs section; your submission status is listed in the Status column.
If your application has been successfully submitted, the status will say "Submitted".
If your application is successful, the status of the application will change from “In Review” to “Selected” in your Programs list.
You will also receive an email notification of any changes to your application status. See a description of each status below:
Submitted: Your pre-qualification application has been received
In Review: Your application is currently being reviewed
Incomplete: Your application is incomplete and requires additional information. The application has been re-opened for editing. Once updated, you may re-submit
Approved: Your application has been approved
Conditional Approval: Your application has been approved with conditions that must be met
Awaiting Management Approval: Your application is pending final internal approval
Not Selected: Your application has not been successful at this stage
Selected for the Next Stage: Your application has passed pre-qualification, and you are invited to proceed to the site-specific stage
Receive Notifications
Check for email updates on application status.
3. Complete Site-Specific Application
• Navigate to Finance > Programs• Select DARES Performance-Based Grants for Solar Business Systems• Go to the Application tab• You will see an additional tab beside the Pre-Qualification tab for the site-specific stage
• Fill out all required fields in the form• Ensure all required checkboxes are selected before submission
• Navigate to the Attachments section• Create a folder named: “Site Specific Application 1”• Upload all required documents into this folder
• All required fields are completed• All required checkboxes are selected• All required documents are uploaded in the correct folder
- You will not be able to submit until all required fields, checkboxes, and documents are completed
- Ensure all documents are uploaded in the correct folder as specified in the program rules
4. Communicate with the Program Administrators
You can communicate with the Program administrators via the Messages section provided under the program. To do this,
