1. Integrate your Equipment

Before you can verify and submit claims, your equipment must be integrated with Odyssey so that consumption data can be read for each connection. Verification in this program depends on consumption data, so connections without a working integration cannot be verified.

Make your equipment consumption data available to Odyssey through the Meter Metrics dataset in the Standard API. You expose an endpoint and Odyssey retrieves the data from it on a schedule.

Meter Metrics documentation: https://platform.odysseyenergysolutions.com/#/standard-api/docs/meter

Important: coordinates are mandatory for this program

The Standard API documentation lists latitude and longitude as optional fields. For the DARES PUE program they are mandatory. Geolocation is one of the two verification criteria, so every connection you expose must include its unique coordinates. Connections without coordinates will fail verification.

How to set up your integration

  1. Expose an endpoint that conforms to the Meter Metrics contract, returning consumption data for each of your connections.
  2. Validate your endpoint using the public Standard API validator.
  3. Once validation passes, create the API Integration in Odyssey. Select Program-Level Integration as the target.
  4. Confirm that the identifiers you return match the External ID recorded against each connection exactly. If they do not match, verification will fail even when your data is correct.

2. Create Claim

Once your pre-qualification application has been Selected, you may submit claims on a rolling basis.

  1. Click on Finance > Programs.
  2. Select the DARES Productive Use of Energy (PUE) program to open it.
  3. Click on Claims from the top navigation bar and create a new claim.

REA Requirement

Claims may be submitted monthly or quarterly, at your discretion. Submit at least monthly if that suits your operations. If you prefer to batch connections, you may submit as infrequently as quarterly, but not less often than that.

Label each claim using the format Month_Year_Company Name, using the last month covered by the claim. For example, a claim submitted in August 2026 covering connections made in June, July and August would be labelled 08_2026_Company ABC.

Once a claim is submitted, no further updates or connection uploads are allowed. Review carefully before submitting.

Complete the claim information

Click each field to fill out the required information.

  • Asset Name: Enter your claim label using the Month_Year_Company Name format described above.
  • Notes: Not required, but you may enter claim information here.
  • Country: Select Nigeria from the dropdown menu.
  • State: Select the city of your headquarters or distribution center. This field is not essential but must be filled out to proceed.
  • Program: You must add the project to the corresponding program in the Programs field in order to submit your claims. You will not be able to complete your proposal if the project is not registered with the program.

Save your claim.

Note

If the Save button is grey, make sure all fields are completely filled out. Once all the required information is entered, the button will turn green.

3. Populate Connections Template

You must submit proof of customer connections for each productive-use system installed in order to receive the grant disbursement. Create a new claim to submit each set of connections.

Download the connections template

  1. Navigate to the Connections module of the claim.
  2. Select the Download Template button to download an Excel template where you can import your proof of customer connections.

Enter 0 rather than leaving a required field blank

Every field marked Required must contain a value. Where a required numeric field does not apply to your connection, enter 0 rather than leaving it empty, or the connection will not be submittable. This applies most often to:

  • Battery capacity or Inverter Rating, where no battery or inverter is installed.
  • Cost to End User, Downpayment Amount and Payment Amount, wherever they do not apply to your payment model. See the worked examples in Section 3.

A description of the data you should include in each column is outlined below.
